Note:

*The Advisory Commission on Arts and Culture currently has nine members.  Four will expire in October.  The Mayor needs to make enough appointments to ensure that the Commission has the required minimum of five members, but not more than nine members.

** The Juvenile Hearing Board currently has eight members.  Six will expire this December.  The Mayor needs to make enough appointments to ensure that the Board has the required minimum of seven members, with at least one being from each of the six councilmanic districts and one being under the age of twenty-five.

*** The Pawtucket Business Development Corporation currently has twelve members.  The Mayor needs to make enough appointments to ensure that the Board has the required minimum of seventeen members, but not more than nineteen members.

**** The Pawtucket Hall of Fame Committee currently has twelve members.  Four will expire next December.  The Mayor needs to make enough appointments to ensure that the Committee has the required minimum of nine members, but not more than fifteen members.

***** The Public Arts Committee currently has four members.  Two will expire in June.  One must be filled by an artist and one must be an architect/designer.  The current vacancy must be filled by a member of the Arts & Culture Advisory Commission.

Upcoming Meeting Dates

The Advisory Commission on Arts and Culture is focused on the identification, expansion, and promotion of the arts, culture, and artistic features throughout the City of Pawtucket.

City Hall Art Gallery

The City Hall Art Gallery was established by the Commission in 2015 with the goal of the bringing artwork into publically owned spaces. Shows are rotated three to four times a year and receptions for each show are hosted by the Commission. 

The mission of the Public Art Program is to reflect the city’s identity, improve the quality of life for residents and visitor’s, stimulate city pride, attract economic development, and to engage artists and the community in the life of the city by acquiring and maintaining high-quality public art that is funded partially or fully with public monies and/or located on public property.

Meeting Dates

The Pawtucket Advisory Commission on Arts and Culture generally meets bi-monthly on the last Monday of the month at 5:00pm in the Planning/ Zoning Conference Room, located on the main floor of Pawtucket City Hall.

Established in 1993, as an independent non-profit corporation, Pawtucket’s Business Development Corporation (PBDC) provides loan funding to businesses expanding in or relocating to Pawtucket and will be creating jobs.

Authorized by State Statue, RI General Law Chapter 45-31, the Pawtucket Redevelopment Agency’s mission is to assist in revitalizing Pawtucket’s neighborhood and commercial areas.

Upcoming Meeting Dates

The Pawtucket Redevelopment Agency (PRA) generally meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 12:15 p.m. in the Planning conference room located on the first floor of Pawtucket City Hall.
