Chief Tina Goncalves
Chief Goncalves began her career with the Pawtucket Police Department on December 11, 1998. She has served in the Patrol Division, Narcotics Division and Detective Division.
Chief Goncalves was promoted to Sergeant in 2003; Detective Sergeant in 2006; Lieutenant in 2011; Captain in September 2011 and Major in September 2015 overseeing the Major Crimes Unit. Chief Goncalves was also an original member of the Sex Offender Law Enforcement Multidisciplinary Network (SOLEMN) and also served as the Police Department’s Prosecuting Officer.
Chief Goncalves holds a BS Degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University and a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law. She is a licensed attorney in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Major Dave Holden
Major Holden joined the Pawtucket Police Department in 2002. He currently serves as the Detective Division Commander, responsible for the management and planning of the Department’s Investigative Units. Major Holden is the Department’s Canine Coordinator and member of the Special Response Team.
Major Holden previously served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Patrol Division, Office of Professional Standards, Narcotics Unit, Administration Division as well as the Executive Officer of the Detective Division.
Major Holden holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Anna Maria College.
Major Christopher Dupont
Major Dupont joined the Pawtucket Police Department in 1998. He currently serves as the Patrol Commander, responsible for the management of the Patrol Division, the Community Policing Unit, the Traffic Division, and the Planning & Training Division.
Major Dupont previously served as the Officer in Charge of the Planning & Training Division, the Field training Coordinator, a Firearms Instructor, the 1st Platoon Commander, the Officer in Charge of the Traffic Division and Municipal Court, the Elder Affairs Officer and as a Field Training Officer.
Major Dupont holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State University and is pursuing a Master’s Degree of Public Administration from Anna Maria College.
Major Alan Mal
Major Mal joined the Pawtucket Police Department in 2006. He currently serves as the Administration Division Commander, responsible for the management of the police department’s assets, purchasing, and budgetary matters.
Major Mal previously served in a number of different capacities, including as the Officer-in-Charge of the Community Policing Unit and the Office of Professional Standards, as well as the Executive Officer of the Patrol Division and the Detective Division.
Major Mal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Rhode Island College and a Juris Doctor in Law from Syracuse University. Major Mal also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
